A Note from the SQA Director

SQA invites applicants from all organizations who realize that incorporating principles of sustainability and quality will increase the potential for their success in the 21st century. Sustainable Quality Awards will be given within the following six categories: large business, small business, government, non-profit, education, individual.

Award evaluations do not focus on achieved 'Sustainable Quality' because, to date, no organization is at that level. Rather SQA realizes that the movement toward Sustainable Quality is far more important. This means that organizations who are even considering implementing systems which increase employee value, reduce global resource use, and increase economic stability for itself and its surrounding community are strongly urged to apply.

An award application will engage your company in a learning process that will benefit your organization in many ways including your financial bottom line. Additionally, applicants (as well as recipients) will be honored for their leadership by taking the bold step of committing to Sustainable Quality principles, a path that few have yet chosen to take.

Nominating yourself for an award is NOT about 'tooting your own horn'. Rather SQA sees it as a responsibility for emerging leaders who realize the importance of incorporating Sustainable Quality principles within organizations. The award becomes a powerful way to increase awareness by allowing others to see your efforts as an example that they can follow. We regard those who apply for an award as messengers signaling others that organizational development is changing to accommodate an emerging global system.
